We had the very first meal here when we arrived Iraq. Feom the very beginning there started a fuss People donot understand english and same is arabic for us. At last a Pakistani worker was called to understand the whole matter. He described the whole menu in 7 words. No spices rice chicken beaf and khubaz. We had to opt for chicken roast with rice and mutton with rice. Taste was better than expected and serving portion was also good. But yougurt and salad were awful. But on that day ad it was the first one we were not aware of the cost of food around Iraq. They charged us 28000 iraqi dinars almost 21 usd but when explored the area we were a bit shocked that these servings were charged almost twice the value. I donot blame the owners but pakistani person who made us to pay that amount. Owner is responsible to the extant that he didnot say a word just gave him an eye contact. Then it was over. All the visitors of Maola Imam Hussain a.s should be consious and aware of such things. In Najaf we were not able to visit any indian or pakistani restaurant. But in Karbala there is a restaurant on AL ABBASS street named muta'am al pakistani, thats a good one . That offers breakfast lunch dinner and in evening fritters , petties and some sort of chaats. Pakistan/Indian style tea was the most important thing we all missed in Najaf. Stay blesses and be ware of scams. Do your homework about your visits, there transport structure, taxi and rikshaw fares , average costs of meals and some important grocery items on general stores because they also over charge persons specially in late hours.
